I've been trying to make sense of the MCU timeline and it's been a bit confusing to say the least. I've always assumed that The Avengers takes place a year after Thor, IM3 takes place 6 or 7 months after The Avengers, and Thor 2 takes place about a year after that, but some of the timelines i've looked up say Thor 2 takes place a few months after The Avengers while IM3 takes place a year later. Care to clarify?
A little bit ago I went to New York and I fangirled too hard... why you ask? MIDTOWN COMICS. It was more than my little brain could handle... anyway. What is your favourite memory of New York if you have ever been?
I dunno, that’s tough. I’ve lived in or around NYC since I was a month old. I’ve never lived more than an hour away.
There was one time a few years ago when my wife (probably girlfriend or fiancee at the time) were walking up 8th Avenue and a guy tried to pickpocket me. I caught him in the act, my lady hit him with her bag if I recall correctly, I kicked him in the ass and then took his bookbag. Then brought it to the cops. That was neat.
Firstly, I loved your taco-related appearance on MAOS Declassified - so much easier to relate to characters knowing their taco counterparts! Secondly, which character would you most like to see with their own MCU movie?
Thanks! It was really hard work, eating those tacos and coming up with that on the fly. But the proof is in the pudding. Taco pudding.
Marvel AR is cool! If there is about four per comic, and there's tens of comics a month, how many people work on them? How long does it take to make one comic's worth of AR?
I won’t spoil how the sausage is made, but we don’t have a huge team working on these. Some we work with an outside crew on. Some internally. And Judy Stephens is producer overlord of the bunch. Have you watched As The Page Turns, an original little series we’re doing through AR and the site? You can watch the first episode here.
Also, if you’re going to misspell a word like “what,” go whole hog and misspell every word in that sentence. Lean into it. Get real with it. “Wat” is just lazy. Either mess it all up, or button up and go proper.
Since you have not experienced the Moon Knight fandom first hand I can tell you it can be pretty intense. Especially when you have to defend your love of the character to other people without flipping out
Hello, agent M. I've never in my life had a gaming console, and now that i have the oportunity to buy one, i'm thinking on the newest consoles (xbox one, ps4, wii u) but i don't know which one should i choose ... i have to say that xbox is tempting me more than the others, but, what do you recommend me? (sorry if my english is bad :P) And greetings from mexico, the glorious land of tacos
Hello! I can’t say that I can give this a full recommendation yet—I don’t have a PS4. I have a WiiU, but don’t really play it that often. Just got the Xbox One and so far I’m digging the games, the streaming services work great and it has a Blu-ray player. Solid!
For the library anon: Not sure how feasible it is, but there are companies out there that do custom bindings. If there's a book series that is taken out at a decent rate you could have a few of them bound together. Herring and Robinson book binders and wbmbindery are easy on the wallet.
I’ve seem some of the custom bindings done for comics that my friends have owned. It’s pretty rad. I only have about 3 long boxes of comics that I won’t part with, but that’s been something I’ve wanted to do to them for years. Does make sense for one of them book places.
I work in a public library & graphic novels are really popular but often are bound so cheap that they fall apart after only a few uses. Is there any way to convince Marvel to start some library-only editions that can handle a 100+ uses? Because future borrowers today could mean future subscribers once they have money to spend on comics.
I love that idea, but not sure it’s doable/feasible. Will definitely share with teams here.
I’m not anti-PS4 at all. I think it may come as a birthday/xmas gift from family. I’m console agnostic. I want them allllllll. I just happened to have the good fortune to luck into an Xbox One and I really dig it.
Agent M, do you get to keep all those awesome comics that you show us, like a perk of your already awesome job? Or do you have to pass them on to the next person?
They’re all mine! But I only keep most of the collections. I just don’t have room for single issues anymore. I read every single issue we put out each week, then my wife reads ‘em and then I either give them to people visiting Marvel or someone else. They’re always shared with others.
Mister M! A quick question from a production assistant / runner if you don't mind: if any of the new Marvel films are in need of crew, where do they usually advertise this? Is it advertised at all? I've been looking everywhere for opportunities for films that are rumoured to be shot in the UK, but so far no luck. Many thanks for your time!
Honestly? I dunno. Having been to several productions of ours in the UK, I know some folks have been brought back. But I don’t know how they’re brought in to begin with. Sorry, wish I could help more!
