Jim Henson

C.R. - 7"

“Jim Henson” by C.R. (Compassionate Revolution)

It was Jim Henson’s birthday on Friday (September 24th). He would have been 74. He died at 53. 53! My mom just turned 53. Bah.

Anyway, there’s not much I can say about Jim Henson and his creations, the fruits of his imagination, that hasn’t been said. Watch one of the Muppets movies or some of the old Muppets TV shows or some old Sesame Street clips or The Dark Crystal or Labryinth, etc.

And this song, as angry and violent sounding as it may be, is all about the lyrics—which are taken from a key scene in The Muppet Movie.

“Yeah, well, I’ve got a dream too. But it’s about singing and dancing and making people happy. That’s the kind of dream that gets better the more people you share it with. And, well, I’ve found a whole bunch of friends who have the same dream. And, well, it kind of makes us like a family.”
