Hi! I know you're in a different department from the Marvel legal department, but I was wondering if you might be able to give me any advice on what Marvel would look for in a legal intern? I'm a first year law student at USC in Los Angeles and I've been wanting to apply for that legal internship since I found out about it two years ago. I'd be applying for this coming summer. And then hopefully the Marvel LLC legal internship for my second year. I'd appreciate any advice you have!

Interesting! I rarely get questions about the legal beagles here. So I asked Di Li, one of our intrepid lawyers, to field this one:

“Great question! There isn’t any specific criteria but Marvel legal interns work in a variety of different areas, so we are always looking for people who are enthusiastic and willing to learn and work hard. One of the advantages of being in the LA area is that you can intern during the school year, so I’d suggest applying for a spring/fall internship as well, if you have the time! Also, you don’t need to wait until your 2L summer to apply for an internship at Marvel Entertainment in NY. We’ve had 1L summer associates before, so don’t let that keep you from applying. Last but not least, knowledge of (and interest in) the company never hurts!
