I picked up a giant stack of awesome graphic novels from Top Shelf Comix at San Diego Comic-Con 2011!
Infinite Kung Fu! League of Extraordinary Gentlemen 1969! The Homeland Directive! Any Empire! Gingerbread Girl! Chester 5000!
I love me some great indie books and Top Shelf’s been my fave non-Marvel publisher for years, no joke. Also, Chris Staros and Robert Venditti and Andy Runton are like the nicest dudes ever ever!
SPIDER-MAN: BACK IN QUACK cover by @skottieyoung. Hell. Yes. More info on Marvel.com.
Contra/Tetris animated awesomeness by Tvigle!
Animated Short of the Day: Russian marketing firm and world-renowned video game masher-uppers Tvigle are back once again with an ad for whatever which features the unholy union of Contra and Tetris.
Tvigle are similarly world-renowned for taking their stuff off YouTube, so watch it while it’s up. And by watch it, I mean watch it.

#DailyCover: Gifford Children’s Choir from Racine, WI covering “Still Alive,” from the videogame “Portal” (written by @jonathancoulton). Via every gaming site and blog. ;)
I’m a HUGE dork for “Portal” and this song, which plays during the closing credits, got in my brain and lived there for months. We downloaded it for “Rock Band.” I have the mp3 on my computer. I’ve seen and heard numerous covers…LOVE IT.
This version is extra cool since they’re kids singing a song about a robot doing science and trying to kill someone and surviving its own destruction. The video’s kinda crappy, but the audio rules.
Buy the “Still Alive” mp3 by Jonathan Coulton & GLaDOS for $.89.
